Ponds

Ponds are another one of our specialties. We regularly work with ponds and in many different respects. We build boulder walls and edging around existing ponds. We also construct ponds in conjunction with our water features and as stand-alone projects. The types of pond applications include industrial, residential, golf course, commercial and mining. Additionally, we do pond aeration and algae treatments and are now offering a new service of suction dredging for natural ponds up to an acre in size.

When we build boulder walls around existing ponds we work with designers and engineers to achieve the level of retainage necessary. And we offer multiple material options in various price ranges to help customers achieve the appearance they desire. The same is true with edging. One bonus we have noted with pond edging is that it doubles as a geese repellent (when baby geese get in they cannot get back out). When we construct our ponds from scratch we use either clay based onsite soil or we install a geo membrane. There are multiple types of geo membranes that can be chosen, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane, etc., depending on the purpose. We also install liners in leaking ponds of us to 200,000 sq. ft. And, of course we place fountains in some of our pond applications.

The best place to view our pond work is at Delmar Gardens’ locations, including their corporate office in Chesterfield, just off of Hwy 40, Delmar Gardens North in Florissant, MO, Delmar Gardens of O’Fallon, in O’Fallon, Missouri and Delmar Gardens in Overland Park, Kansas.

    - Janet Maurer, Chair of City of Jefferson Lewis and Clark Task Force

  • "I am an architect in the St. Louis area. Twice I have used Brookside and both experiences I would rate excellent or better. Pat and their crew’s creative input and ability to implement their ideas resulted in two of the most interesting and natural looking landscape projects I have seen."
    - Dick Bush, Architect

  • "Brookside created a beautiful waterfall for us. It looks so natural that people think it’s part of the natural landscape. It is extremely well done and very artistic."
